In 1966, the dowser Thomas Trench was asked for help by the Belgian police force. He was to use his talent to help locate the body of a young man, which he quickly succeeded in doing. The Dutch clairvoyant Gerhard Croiset also used this extraordinary talent to find missing aeroplanes and people. There are reports and statistics which offer plenty of proof that first-rate dowsers can locate things on a map.

Yet the story of dowsing goes back almost 500 years. As early as 1560, dowsers were said to have looked for metal ore. The forerunner of the dowsing rod was the magic wand of magicians and gods – like the forked mistletoe branch that opened the gates of the underworld according to Greek legend. In the Bible there is also the story of Moses, who used his staff to tap a well-spring out of a rock.

How does a dowsing rod work?

Aura-Soma Therapy

January 21, 2008

Kate from Glasgow has this question: What exactly happens in Aura-Soma therapy?

Aura-Soma is a wholistic colour therapy, in which the healing power of colours , herbs, crystals and aromatic essences combine with light to harmonise body, spirit and soul. At the heart of this therapy are 100 bottles of colour, the Equilibrium oils, also known as balance bottles. The Equilibrium bottles are a dual colour combination of oil and water. The lower fraction consists of spring water in which herbs and minerals have been dissolved.

The upper fraction consists of matching essential oils in inert vegetable oil. Each bottle is infused with the energy from the colours, plants and crystals. They work not only at a physical level, but also an intellectual and emotional one, too. By applying the oils we undo blockages on both a physical and ethereal plane. This allows us to make changes in our life and reinstate harmony.

Johnny from London: How do people see auras? Does everybody have an aura and how can you recognise them?

Everyone has his or her own unmistakable aura which can be reproduced using so-called Kirlian photography. Kirlian photography is a form of electro-photography in which electrostatic images, with typical corona rings, develop in a high frequency, high voltage field. These coronas are seen as an expression of the energy field or “aura”. Unlike the very regular flows around inanimate matter, there are considerable irregularities in the dimension, optical density, regularity and length of the coronas. Most people with auric sight try to live a life free of stress and aggression where possible; they do not smoke, or drink alcohol or coffee or eat meat. They spend a lot of time in the countryside and are aware of their spiritual and physical nourishment; they are also in touch with their own Self. They usually have some kind of training in an esoteric field.

A question from Mark, Ipswich: I noticed moqui marbles on sale in pairs in an esoteric shop. Are they healing crystals? If so, what effect do they have?

Moqui marbles belong to the so-called iron oolites. These are sandstone rocks with incorporated iron oxide pellets (ooides). The word oolith = egg stone (Gr. Oion = egg, lithos = stone) is also derived from this. They are found on the island of Amrum in the Baltic Sea under the name of “limonite pellets”.

Moqui marbles are large iron ooides with a hollow, sand-filled centre. They get their name from the Moqui Indians on whose land in Utah, USA they are found. The stones have been known to the Indians who live there for many hundreds of years. They have not only bestowed peace on the tribes since time immemorial, they also ensure survival in the tough American West. These stones are often known as “shaman stones” and even today every Indian family has a pair, to ward off all kinds of evil or false friends.

In addition, Moqui marbles offer protection from fire, flood and lightning. They bestow increased fertility, fortune and energy on the whole family and all their next of kin.

Clairvoyance with cards

January 14, 2008

Lisa from Liverpool: "I have had consultations with many clairvoyants in the past. I noticed that they all use the tarot cards at the same time. Why is that? Wouldn’t a real clairvoyant – in my opinion – be able to arrive at their message without any outside help? I must confess that I was too shy to ask the clairvoyants themselves."

In the case of a normal, face to face consultation, a good clairvoyant should indeed be able to look in to the future or the current question without using any aids. An important exception is telephone advice and consultations. For these, it has proved useful to use the tarot to strengthen the link between questioner and advisor.

It can be hard for a telephone advisor to establish close contact with a questioner over the phone and the accompanying tarot spread helps to reinforce the results of the spiritual-intellectual connection between the two people. So don’t take it badly if the clairvoyant you speak to uses the cards as well; on the contrary, the cards act as an additional check on the outcome.

Tesla shields are thin aluminium sheets. The aluminium is mechanically oxidised and coloured. It is said that these sheets change in the artificial oxidation process and, depending on the method, relay different energy fields.

Purple energy shields are said to purify foods stuffs and charge them with positive energy, for instance. Some people place fresh vegetables or newly-bought food on them to lengthen the shelf life. However, there is not yet any scientific proof for the effect of Tesla shields. But their use will apparently not do any harm.

Wooden percussion frogs

January 08, 2008

What is the significance of wooden percussion frogs and for what purpose were they originally used?

Percussion frogs – a model of a frog with a wooden stick in its mouth – were first mentioned in an old East Asian fairy story. A young prince was forbidden to meet his beloved because she was not of high birth. They arranged to sound a percussion frog when they wanted to meet, as a secret sign to meet at the legendary banyan tree in the furthest corner of the palace, near a swamp. One night, they lost their way in the swamp and were never seen or heard of again, except in the form of the percussion frog’s call. Lovers nowadays use the frog as a symbol of undying lov

What is the Bible Code?

January 07, 2008

Mary from London has this question: What is the Bible Code?

A rumour was circulating a few years ago that some hidden information had been discovered in the Bible which predicted the nature of future events. Is there any truth in this?

The Bible code is nothing more than a crude theory which was propagated by a former police reporter on the Washington Post. During a stay in the Middle East, he heard that Eliyahu Rips, a mathematics professor at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, had apparently been working on a secret code hidden in the five books of Moses (the Torah) and had deciphered it.

What Rips had done was to take the 304,805 consonants in the Hebrew version, enter them into a computer and discover distinctive statistical and structural features in the names. He concluded that “details of occurrences” were described there, which had only happened thousands of years after the Bible had been written.

Atlantis rings

January 04, 2008

What exactly is an Atlantis ring and how does it work? This question comes from Kate.

The original Atlantis ring was found in Aswan in 1960 while unearthing a sarcophagus. The archaeologist Howard Carter wore it at the excavation of the tomb of Tutankhamun. As we know, he was the only one among the archaeologists present who did not perish shortly after and hence survived the Pharaohs’ curse. It is presumed that the nine right angles and two triangles with which this ring is decorated provide protection. The special powers of the amulet support the wearer at all times and strengthen his or her physical and psychic energies. Damaging influences are deflected by the wearer and turned into positive ones. Thus, the Atlantis ring is a classic protective and healing ring.
